Lymphatic Massage
What is Lymphatic Drainage Therapy
Lymph Drainage Therapy is a gentle technique that uses short, light, rhythmic
strokes to stimulate the body’s lymphatic system to activate the body's fluid
circulation, promote the functioning of the immune system, and relax the nervous
system. The lymphatic system rids the body of toxins and waste by filtering
lymph, a fluid that carries infection-fighting white blood cells throughout the body,
through the lymph nodes in the neck, armpits and groin areas. The practitioner
can use their hands to detect and work with the body’s specific rhythm, direction,
depth and quality of the lymph flow, and with further training, can map abnormal
lymph flow and determine alternative pathways for draining stagnant fluid from
anywhere in the body.
